Washington insurance continuing education requires credit hours be completed every two years per the requirements of the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
All licensed resident producers must complete 24 hours of CE every two years, including 3 hours in Ethics to fulfill Washington insurance license renewal requirements.Washington Insurance CE Requirements
- WA renewal requires 24 hours of CE (including 3 in Ethics).
- Courses may be taken in any line of authority. For example, Life Insurance agents may take courses in Life & Health.
- Excess CE credit hours do not carry over to subsequent license renewal periods.
- Courses may not be repeated for credit within 3 years of first being taken.

There are 2 types of packages. The first group, with 24 hrs after the name, will give you 24 hours of credit with one 50 question test. The second group has individual tests for each of the listed courses, so the hours can be earned as each test is completed.

Adjusters and producers with licenses only in credit insurance, travel insurance, or surety licenses are not required to complete the above-mentioned CE requirements.
Under federal law, even exempt individuals must take the required LTC course before they can begin selling long term care policies.
Washington License Renewal Requirements
Time for your Washington insurance license renewal? It's important to know:
- 24 hours of CE, including 3 hours of Ethics, every 2 years.
- Online, textbook, or classroom courses are acceptable.
- You must pass your course completion examination with a 70% or better.
- Excess credit hours can not carry over to the next renewal period.
- Courses cannot be repeated for credit withih 3 years (completion dates must be at least 3 years apart).
- Agents may take any approved course for credit
- Course completion exams are open book and do not require a proctor.
After you pass our course, we will send your completion information on to the Washington Department of Insurance.
