Major-line producers (including Life and Health agents) may be exempt if they meet the following requirements: License term began after January 1, 2014; Agent was continually licensed since January 1, 1995; Agent has not held a non-resident producer license in any state at any point since January 1, 1995; Agent has never been the subject of an order from the director of insurance regarding a violation of Arizona insurance laws (includes cease and desists, license suspensions, license revocations, and license non-renewals).

Under federal law, even exempt individuals must take the required LTC course before they can begin selling long term care policies.
