Michigan Approved Insurance Licensing Classes

State Approved Student Licensing Class from CPMI
Becoming Licensed Insurance Agents in Michigan

In the state of Michigan, insurance agent licensing is regulated by the Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth - Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation. Most resident insurance producers intending to acquire their license in MI are required by law to take some form of state approved prelicensing education.

For every line in which a candidate wishes to become licensed, at least twenty hours of study are required. CPMI Professional Development has years of experience helping prelicensing exxam candidates become licensed in Michigan, with specialty training programs designed to help students quickly learn the material that will be covered on the state prelicensing examination.

Some candidates may be able to waive these prelicensing education requirements by possessing certain professional designations (CLU, ChFC, CPCU, AAI, CIC), or if they have obtained certain college credits in insurance from an accredited learning institution. To obtain a waiver, candidates must contact the state directly and receive a written waiver prior to taking the licensing exam.
