State Approved Student Licensing Class from CPMI
In the state of Michigan, insurance agent licensing is regulated by the Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth - Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation. Most resident insurance producers intending to acquire their license in MI are required by law to take some form of state approved prelicensing education.
For every line in which a candidate wishes to become licensed, at least twenty hours of study are required. Students who have already obtained their license in another state are not required to recertify in Michigan. Prelicensing education is valid for up to twelve months upon course completion. After that time, students will need to retake their course if they have not yet successfully completed the Michigan licensing exam.
