Ohio Insurance Licensing InformationOhio resident insurance producer applicants must complete a required amount of pre-licensing education from a state-approved licensing provider (like CPMI) before taking any of the Ohio licensing exams - Life/Variable Products, Accident & Health, Property, or Casualty. These educational requirements can be met either through completing a 20-hour long classroom course or the successful completion of an approved self-study course.

Upon the completion of your required pre-licensing study course with CPMI, you will be given a Course Completion Certificate for every line (Life, Health, Property, Casualty) that you have completed. These certificates are only valid for 180 days from the date of issuance, and you must successfully complete your licensing test for that line during the 180 day validity period. Applicants who do not present this Course Completion Certificate at the time of their exam (one for each line) will not be admitted to take the Ohio insurance license exam.
