Illinois insurance CE must be completed by all resident licensed agents before renewal of their insurance producer license (once every two years). IL resident producers are required to have a total of 24 hours of approved continuing education courses on file with the Department. Three of those hours must be classroom ethics training.

Illinois License Renewal Requirements
Time for your Illinois insurance license renewal? It's important to know:
- 24 hours of CE are required.
- Online, textbook, or classroom courses are acceptable.
- 3 of the 24 hours must be in ethics in a classroom.
- You must pass your course completion examination with a 70% or better.
- Courses completion exams can be taken without a proctor and are open book.
- Any course approved for CE in Illinois may be taken for credit.
After you pass our course, we will send your completion information on to the state within one business day.
